Violet is a ring-tailed cat, and one of the main characters in Unspooled. Her father, Steven, was born and raised in Arizona; her mother Karen grew up in Lithuania as a daughter of immigrants from Ukiah, California. During the course of the story, she befriends young Guadeloupe raccoon Samson and helps him trace the owner of Ironstone, an unreleased 1930s film—only after coming to terms with the unrequited love she has gone through. | ||
