Cornus canadensis
- This Tovasala specimen débuted in edition #1507 of r/conlangs' "Just Used 5 Minutes of Your Day" (in late July 2021).
- The original Nuxalk sentence, clhp'xwlhtlhplhhskwts' (xłp̓x̣ʷłtłpłłskʷc̓), is a commonly cited example of vowel-less words in foreign languages. The main root, p̓x̣ʷłt, gives way to the Tovasala word for the Cornus canadensis bunchberry, pexolte. As such, consonant-heavy languages (typified by various Salishan and Kartvelian members) are humorously called pexolt-novoltes.
