proxim adp 2 / 1a ii a [/pɹok.sɪm/; prox•im (2 syll.)] [Ltn. proximus (nearest)Wiktionary.]
→ Part of a deictical ablaut sequence: proxem (proximity/closeness), proxim (near), proxam (far), proxaum (beyond). This is the standard sequence which all others in Tovasala are modelled after, such as wox*m (duration), dolsh*m (length), aub*m (size), aulx*m (height), tez*m (speed), and vep*m (temperature). While the i is left alone in this adposition (as with ẽrgim), all other forms carry an underdotted ịm to prevent confusion with first-person indicative clitic -im.
For the verb meaning "come closer to", see proximäuvvar.
- proximi a, proximausmi comp, proximausomi super [/pɹok.sɪ.mi/; prox•i•mi]
→ The comparative forms correspond to English nearer and nearest.
